Our extra relief support provides additional care outside the main 10am–3pm day service hours, helping families and carers manage care arrangements across a longer part of the day. We understand that caring for a family member can be physically and emotionally demanding, and reliable support at key times of the day can make a real difference.
Morning sessions can help individuals begin their day with support for personal care, breakfast and preparation for the day service. Evening sessions can provide companionship, light meals and support during the transition to evening. Availability varies and sessions are arranged individually depending on current capacity and individual circumstances.
Extra relief support sessions may be available from 8am to 10am in the morning and from 3pm to 7pm in the evening, where capacity allows. The service is designed to complement our main day service, providing continuity of care and a consistent face for the person being supported. All sessions are planned around individual needs and preferences.
Morning sessions typically involve support with getting ready, personal care, breakfast and preparation for the day ahead. Evening sessions focus on companionship, light refreshments, social activities and support with settling into the evening routine. Both are adapted to the individual and their usual preferences.
